Variables settings
Variables store secrets and configuration values your automations and environments reference — API keys, tokens, and non-secret config.
Manage variables
Open Settings → Variables to add, edit, or delete variables. Environment
variables and secrets share one editor — set the Type per row to Runtime Secret or Environment Variable.
Add several at once
Click Add secrets, then paste a .env file into the field. Konvio parses
each KEY=value line into its own row and defaults the type to Runtime Secret. Paste a single name (no =) to add one row instead. Set the Apply
to scope before saving.
Naming
Use clear, consistent names:
LOGS_API_TOKENPAGERDUTY_WEBHOOK_SECRETDEPLOY_REGION
Scope
Variables may be workspace-wide or scoped to an application depending on the settings UI. Check the scope bar before saving.
Secrets hygiene
- Never paste secrets into conversation messages or docs pages
- Rotate variables when credentials leak or people leave
- Use least-privilege tokens for each connector
Reference in automations
Automation steps reference variables by name. Consult your automation builder for the exact syntax.
